Thank you very much for the answer to the question I had about something eating my hostas - you suggested 'Sluggo', can I use 'Bug-Etta' a Ortho product or is Sluggo better.

You can use Bug Getta for slug and snail control. It contains the chemical Metaldehyde which effectively dehydrates the pests. You'll want to remove the dead bodies when you see them - I have found that they can rehydrate in a rainstorm and crawl away!!. I use Sluggo because it is iron based, is harmless to birds and wildlife, and any product that is not eaten will dissolve into the soil where the iron will be useful. I think the biggest draw for me is that slugs and snails consume Sluggo and then crawl away. You never see a dead slug or snail! The choice is yours - use whatever you have on hand or whatever you prefer. Good luck with your hostas!
