Do I need to deadhead my clematis?

It isn't necessary to deadhead clematis, but many people pinch off the spent blooms just to make the plant more attractive. Clematis blooms look lovely when brought indoors. Cut the blooms, sear the stems, and float the blooms in a bowl of water.
