| Every year we have to cut our flowers off of our Geraniums,because these white like moths lay eggs on the buds.,that turn into these green worms. These worms can destroy a plant. We know when they have layed their eggs because their is a small hole in each bud. We spray but they keep coming back. What can we do? |
| Because the adult is a moth, they are very difficult to control. Bt works against the caterpillar stage (but won't penetrate the buds of your plants so will only work if sprayed directly on the caterpillar). Removing and destroying the affected flower buds will reduce the next generation; frequently cultivating the soil beneath the plants will expose the pupa to the elements and predators. I'm afraid there's nothing else you can do to control these pests. Sorry! |
