What is best (name of plant) to plant in sandy soil to be barrier screen. Want something that is moderate to fast growth, height to 8 or 9 feet, in partial shade. Thank you.

Hicks Yew will grow fast in shady conditions. Thuja (arborvitae) is also fast growing and tolerant of sun or shade. There are many cultivars - some upright and narrow, some globe shaped. Viburnums are another suggestion. Good luck with your new hedge!
