Centipede and Zoysia grasses do not need as much fertilizer as some other lawn grasses, but it can turn yellow if the soil is alkaline and low in iron. If this is a problem, spread iron sulphate or iron chelate. Otherwise, just fertilize in the early spring with 1 to 2 pounds of actual nitrogen per 1,000 square feet.
