I planted Foxgloves for the first time about a month ago. They have been blooming all along with the stalks that were on the plant, initially. What happens now? Those blooms are over. Do I cut them back? Will others bloom? Do I leave them alone? Please advise. Thank you. |
When all the flowers are spent, trim the flower stalk down to foliage level. Two more stalks will appear and they will flower. The secondary stalks will be smaller than the original flower stalk, but they will still provide some flower color for a few weeks. When they are spent, cut the stalks down but leave the foliage alone. It will die down at the end of the season, but new foliage and flowers will appear next spring. Enjoy! |
