I was given a Meyer Lemon Duarte Fruit Tree today. Is it possible to revive it? I live in the high desert. The tree is in a very small narrow pot. The person that had it was trying to grow it in the house. What can I do? |
Meyer Lemon is a good choice for container growing and it has a deep root system so it should be in a deep container. I would start by repotting it into a larger container with fresh potting soil and watering it well. Meyer lemon trees are perfect for growing indoors because they remain small and will adapt to the lower light levels found inside. Find a bright location indoors (some sunshine will be beneficial) and water as often as necessary to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet. Give the tree a month or two to adapt to its new container and location and then prune back any dead branches. Pruning will encourage new growth. As long as you provide warmth, bright light and adequate water, it should recover and grow well for you indoors. Best wishes with the tree! |
