Zebra Grass (Miscanthus sinensis "Zebrinus") and Giant Reed Grass (Arundo donax) are both available from the KURT BLUEMEL, INC. catalog. Their address is:

2740 Greene Ln.
Baldwin, MD 21013-9523
Phone: (410) 557-7229

Although the zebra grass is certainly hardy in your area, you should be aware that the giant reed grass is only marginally hardy in zone 7 and reliably hardy in zone 8, which is significantly warmer than your location.

A similar variety of variegated miscanthus, Miscanthus s. "Strictus" is available from the Carroll Gardens catalog. They do not carry the giant reed grass, however.

444 East Main Street
Westminster, MD 21157
Phone (800) 638-6334

Most well stocked garden centers carry a variety of ornamental grasses, usually as part of the perennials selection but occasionally as part of the ornamental shrubs selection. You might wish to check with some of the nurseries in your area about the grasses. The assorted miscanthus varieties are generally widely available, and if the giant reed is not available locally it may be because it is not deemed hardy in your area.

Good luck with your search!
