Will my dinner plate flowering hibiscous grow back? - Knowledgebase Question

HELP!!! My son used pruners and unknowingly snipped off all the green shoots growing on my perenial hibiscous is there any possibility that it will still flower this season? Also,is there a chance he might of damaged it permanently?

I think your hardy hibiscus will be fine. In some areas of the country it doesn't even begin to grow until late May or early June so accidentally pruning it back in mid-June shouldn't harm the plant to any great degree. As soon as it recovers from the pruning it should develop healthy new stems and it should still flower - it will just be a few weeks later than normal. Good luck with your hibiscus!
