The Q&A Archives: asiatic lily "victory joy"

Question: how many times does this lily usually bloom? and what does remove spent flowers mean?

Answer: Victory Joy blooms only once per season, usually in June/July. It will produce a flower stalk with several bloom. As the lower flowers are spent, snap them off but allow the rest of the flower buds to open. When the very last flower is spent you can snap that one off, too, to stop seed formation, but leaves the stem alone until it dies down on its own. Enjoy your beautiful lily!
