Answer: The most common pests of lupines are aphids. These can be controlled with a strong stream of water from the hose or with sprays of insecticidal soap. The fuzz might be a fungal disease or it might indicate mealybugs. They have a white cottony coating. See if you can peel the fuzz off and look at it with a magnifying glass.
