Lots of annuals will grow in the shade, especially impatiens, lobelia, and pansies. Perennials which are happy to grow in the shade include: Astilbe, Bleeding Heart, Coral Bells, Ferns of all kinds, Foxglove, Ginger, Hosta, Lily of the Valley, Lobelia, Monkshood, Pachysandra, Primrose, Solomon's Seal, Toad Lily and purple wintercreeper. You might also try colombine. Enjoy your shade garden!
