The Q&A Archives: Pests

Question: The last 2 summers caterpillers have kept my roses from being beautiful. I have used Sevin dust & spray but nothing seems to help.

Answer: Caterpillars are best controlled with Bt, a bacterium that acts as a stomach poison against caterpillars. It is sold under the names Dipel and Thuricide in garden centers. Be sure to apply according to label directions.
