I want to dig out a small area of my front lawn (half circle shape near driveway) and plant a nice arrangement of plants. One taller and the rest lower with bright colors. I want plants that require little water/maintenance. The area gets sun and faces south in Moreno Valley, CA area. Thank you |
There are tons of colorful annuals and perennials you can plant that are drought tolerant and sun loving. Consider ornamental grasses for height - Japanese Blood Grass is a burgundy red - and rattlesnake grass develops interesting seed heads; verbena, salvia, dwarf bottlebrush, lantana, purple coneflower, coreopsis, nasturtium and zinnias are all good choices. Enjoy your new garden! |
