I am using raised beds for the first time and wondering how much soil do I need to put into a 8x4 garden bed?

If your raised bed is 18" deep (our recommendation), you will need 1.76 cubic yards of top soil to fill your 8' by 4' garden. If it is deeper or shallower, you'll need to adjust the about of topsoil. Most plants need 12 to 18" of soil for their root systems. Good luck with your garden.
