I live in Florida have planted Adonidia Palms last year, I see some new leaves coming out that have holes and evidence of insects feeding on the leaves, what type of insecticide/treatment do you suggest. |
Caterpillars are among the most destructive palm pests, sometimes feeding on the fronds before they even emerge. Small infestations can be removed physically, but if the insects are in full force, they can do severe damage. The biopesticide Bacillus thuringenesis (sold as Dipel or Thuricide) is effective on a wide variety of caterpillars. Be sure to use according to label directions. |
