i have a watermelon about the size of a softball, but the plant is dying (from mildew fungus, i think)
if i cut open the melon, will the seeds be useable?

in general, when is an ok time to have viable seeds?
i.e suppose i open up an immature tomato, will the seeds be useable?

thank you...in Florida

Sorry you are having trouble with your melons. Seeds inside melons and tomatoes will not be viable unless the fruits themselves are fully mature. Immature fruits will have immature seeds and they will not sprout. Hope this clarifies things for you.
