I recently saw holes in the plants I planted this year - hostas, dahlias, etc. I just got home and saw several slugs all over my plants. Help!

Slugs and snails love hosta leaves and enjoy munching on dahlia leaves, as well. You can use a slug/snail bait to control these pests. I use Sluggo which is an iron based product that is harmless to birds, pets, and humans. Any product that is not consumed breaks down into simple iron, which is good for your soil. Sprinkle the granules around your plants as recommended on the product label and you'll be able to control the slug population in your garden. Best wishes with your plants.
