| We want to plant vegetables, in raised beds,in our back yard over the grass. We can't dig deep. What can we do and what do we plant 1st, 2nd ect? |
| Your raised beds should be 12-18 inches deep in order to accommodate the root systems of your vegetables. You can build your raised beds directly over the grass. The depth of the soil you put into the raised beds will keep the grass from growing up through it. After you've filled the beds with topsoil and added some organic matter you can plant your veggies. There are two gardening seasons in Florida: one beginning in September and one beginning in February or March.
