We have a lot of wind but there is a wall that is protected and I've seen a lot about growing vertically but can't find and how to info..any ideas?

Using trellises, nets, strings, cages, or poles to support growing plants constitutes vertical gardening. The following website from Scott's has photos and plans so I hope you find it helpful:
