The Q&A Archives: tomato plant cages to prevent squirels from eating

Question: what type of coverage should I get to put over my tomatoe plant to keep the squirel from eating them

Answer: I would just get a roll of chicken wire to make a cylinder to encircle the plant and fold the wire over at the top or clip the top together with clothespins. Be sure to bury the bottom of the cage into the soil 4-5 inches so the critters won't duck under it. Best wishes with your tomatoes!
