| I have a dogwood tree that flowered in the spring and was beautiful. Now all the leaves on the tree are starting to turn yellow and brown. We have had plenty of rain so it is not an issue with the tree needing water. What is causing this problem and how can I rectify? |
| Light green to yellow foliage and dead leaf margins are generally a sign of root stress. In this case, overly wet soil is probably the deciding factor. There's really nothing you can do when rain saturates the soil other than to hope it dries out soon. Once the roots get the oxygen they need, the tree should perk up. If you're concerned that it might be a disease rather than a result of overly wet soils, you can take a sample of the leaves to your local cooperative extension office for further diagnosis.
