Is there a self watering system for one NON CONTAINER tomato plant? |
I'm not aware of anything on the market but you might try just upending a couple of liter bottles next to the plant. I do this when I go on vacation. Fill the plastic bottles with water and plunge them neck first into the soil, deep enough that they will remain upright. As the soil begins to dry out the water in the bottles will be wicked into the soil to keep it moist. Two bottles per plant usually does it. Be sure to refill the bottles as they become empty. They usually last 3-4 days between refilling but your mileage may vary, depending upon your soil type, the size of the plants, and the weather. |
