| Gardenia Veitchii is also called Florida Gardenia. Your climate is perfect for this plant - but your soil is not. If you plant it in the ground, amend the soil with peat moss or sphagnum peat and feed it with an acidified fertilizer such as Miracid. Or, keep it in a container and use potting soil instead of garden soil. It will grow and flower best in morning sun and shelter from hot afternoon sunshine. Best wishes with your new gardenia! |
