Household vinegar can be poured full strength on dandelions and it will kill them, however, it will also kill any other plant it touches, including grasses and ground covers. If the dandelions are growing in a patch of bare soil, vinegar is a good weed control product. If they are growing in your lawn or in a flower or vegetable bed, it's not a good product to use. Hand digging, roots and all, is the best way to control the weeds; keeping them mowed down so they don't flower and set seeds will help you reduce the populations in your yard. Best wishes with your landscape.
