I have a big space in my vegetable garden that is free and would like to know if it is to late to plant something there. And if not, what would you suggest. I live in the DFW, Texas area

You can plant summer squash in the empty spot now and still have time for a harvest but most other veggies should wait until mid-August. If you plant then you can have a fall harvest of all except the real heat loving veggies such as tomatoes, peppers and melons. Enjoy your garden!
