The Q&A Archives: Leaves not opened

Question: I am growing an elephant ear plant inside the home - leaves have sprouted but are not opening - how long does that normally take?

Answer: Elephant's ears are tropical in nature so they like warmth and humidity in order to grow well. As soon as the weather is consistently warm and humid, the gigantic leaves will open completely. They're a little slow but once they begin to grow, your plants will make up for lost time. Enjoy!
