You can use a product like Safer's Insecticidal Soap, which is very effective against soft-bodied insects like aphids, or you can hose them off your plants with a strong stream of water. Aphids can be quite a problem because they bear live young so you can have several generations of aphids on a single plant all at one time. You might also try to have lots of different kinds of flowers blooming in your garden to attract beneficial insects such as ladybugs and lacewings. Both of these insects feed on aphids and their young.
