| Every morning we discover that our pumpkin plants are severed at the base of the plant and the leaves are also nibbled at. We have sprayed liquid fence to deter deer and rabbits and have mulched the bare soil with straw. We're stumped and are anxious to take the correct preventative action as we've lost 50% of our otherwise healthy crop. We appreciate any suggestions. Thank you. |
| If you've treated the area to deter deer and rabbits, you might be dealing with smaller critters - mice and rats, for instance. These pesky critters have been known to munch vines and leaves. Try setting a few mouse traps in the garden near the plants and see what happens.... Best wishes with your pumpkins! |
