You can trap earwigs in one of two ways - place dampened, folded newspapers on the soil at night and the earwigs will crawl in to hide. In the morning gather up the newspapers and toss them in the compost heap. Repeat until you've caught them all. Or, place cat food or tuna cans in the garden, fill 2/3 with water and float some vegetable oil on top. The earwigs will be attracted to the oil, crawl into the cans and drown. Empty and re-bait as necessary.
