| I recently transplanted elephant ears to a different area. The sun was too much for them to take and they started to die. Should I cut the withered leaves down or leave them as is? Will they begin to sprout more leaves. Next year I am sure they will be fine but this year I am afraid it is too late. They usually grow 6-7 feet tall with HUGE leaves. Just beautiful as back to a plantbed. |
| If the leaves are still green, leave them on the plant even though they are withered and limp. As long as they are green they are providing carbohydrates to the bulb, which will help next year's growth. When the leaves turn yellow and die you can prune them off the plant. It's still early in the season so I think you will see some new leaf growth from them in a few weeks. I hope they are happy in their new garden spots! |
