is there anything i can do , now that my green (immature) tomatoes have got growth cracks dveloping (they are still just calous on the skin- no holes yet) due to the heavy rains? |
Tomato growth cracks are usually caused when the interior of the tomato swells faster than the skin can grow. Too much rain, or uneven watering can cause this problem but your tomatoes should callous over these cracks and continue to grow and mature. Just cut away the corky, calloused areas before you eat the tomatoes. They may look unsightly but they should taste like vine ripened tomatoes. Enjoy! |
