Ornamental grasses can be either annual or perennial. Some that grow as perennials in warmer parts of the country can be grown as annuals in colder gardening regions. There are many considered perennial in your gardening region. Among them are Big Bluestem, giant reed grass, blue grama, feather reed grass, quaking grass, pampas grass, blue oat grass, Japanese blood grass, maiden grass, and zebra grass. Annual grasses include lemon grass, barley, hare's tail, cloud grass, deer grass and fountain grass. Hope this clarifies things for you.
