I planted a dwarf lemon meyer improved tree right in front of my front window. Is it safe to plant that type of fruit tree right next to my house foundation? Will the root eventually seep through underneath my house? |
In general, dwarf citrus tree roots grow into the top 12-18" of soil and extend out slightly further than the canopy of the tree. A dwarf Meyer lemon will only grow about 4' tall and wide at max so I don't think you need to worry about the roots invading the foundation of your house. When you plant, just keep it 4' away from the foundation and both the tree and the foundation will be just fine. |
