Someone told me that one should not plant Asiatic lilies with daylilies. Is this true? |
As long as plants have the same cultural needs, they can be planted side by side. There are hundreds of lily species and hybrids; Asiatic lilies are hybrid lilies, as are Oriental lilies. Species lilies include Tiger lilies and Easter lilies. Daylilies are Hemerocallis, another cousin of the Liliaceae family. Both daylilies and Asiatic lilies like moist soil, shade on the roots, and tops of the plants in full sunshine. There's no reason at all why you can't grow them in the same garden bed. |
