| A temporary fence made of chicken wire should keep them out, or laying thorny yard clippings such as rose canes in front of the deck and shed might also deter them. A final suggestion is to make a temporary maze of sorts by driving stakes into the ground and stringing nylon fishing line between them. You'll want to keep the line about 6 inches above the ground and criss-cross every 8 inches or so. The cats will be afraid of getting their legs caught and will generally avoid the area. Just set your deterrent up so that it extends out from the deck or shed about 12 or 18 inches in front of the areas they try to access. I think that will deter them. |
