I cut down a woody bush. I do not know name, but I would like to prevent it from growing again, because it has done so in the past. What can I use on the sawed off surface to stop growth? Is it available at Home Depot?

You can use Round Up or Brush B Gon to help kill the stump and the roots. It may take several applications. It is best to paint the product on the freshly cut stump but failing that you can drill a few holes in the stump and paint on the herbicide. It should be transported back to the roots and kill them off, too. Be sure to follow label directions.
