Unfortunately, arborvitaes are quite sensitive to salt so there's not much to suggest other than moving them to a protected place during stormy weather and hosing them off as often as possible to keep salt spray to a minimum. Colorado Spruce (Picea pungens) is very tolerant of salt spray, as is Yew (Taxus) so you may want to consider growing these on your rooftop deck instead of arborvitates. |
