What eats violet roots? what do I do to stop this, just lost my third plant.

Leading the insect enemies are grubs, curiously C-shaped grass-eating vegetarians. Their ?meat? is any root they encounter. You can try GrubEx or Bayer Advanced Grub Control to control the population of grubs. Best wishes with your violets!
