I am not a great gardener. I am selling my house and have an area in front that gets a lot of sun. I want to plant something cheap and colorful to create a nice area at the fron of the house. I live in Chicago, what would you recommend?
Thanks - Sarah

I think the best approach is to plant some drought tolerant annuals in the front of your house. They will need minimal care, especially if you amend the planting bed with some compost to help it hold moisture. Brighten your garden with Ornamental Pepper, Dahlberg Daisy, Marigold, Verbana and Nasturniums. Good luck with your garden!
