Remove after flowering? - Knowledgebase Question

I live in Colorado. Should penstemon spent blossoms be cut back or does leaving them help them spread? Will they bloom only once a summer?

If you deadhead penstemons they may bloom again but if you leave the spent flowers on the plant they are sure to reseed and you'll have even more plants next year. I tend to just leave my plants alone so they can set seeds but the choice is yours.
