| Potting soil is my first choice for filling planters but if they are more than 12" deep you can mix garden soil and potting soil together to fill them. I use a 50/50 mix for these large planters. The potting soil helps the garden soil drain well which is one of the advantages of having raised beds - the ability to custom mix your growing media. Best wishes with your garden. |
