Hello, weeds have been outgrowing the grass in our new lawn and continue to be an unwelcome sight. Is it safe to treat it with the weed killer at this juncture? I am afraid that some of the young grass might not be able to handle the harshness of the chemical. Please advise. Thanks!

Weeds are almost guaranteed to pop up in your new lawn. One of the best strategies is simply to realize they're not going to take over completely, and control them once your lawn has matured. A good rule of thumb is to wait until you've mowed your new lawn at least three times. After that, you can use a weed and feed to zap those weeds without worry. In the meantime, hand pulling or digging the weeds is your best option. Good luck with your new lawn.
