We have a sloped front yard divided by a walkway and stairs leading up to the house. We cannot envision what would make our yard beautiful. In fact, the yard is a main reason the house was on the market a very long time prior to our buying it ( we got if for a great price accordingly). Is there a particular book or computer program that targets yards like ours. As we lack great imagination, we would love to be able to scan a picture of our yard and house and see what would look nice...Or at least be able to see what others have done with their yards.

There is a program called "Planix Photo Landscape" where you can scan in an image of your property, then play around with different plantings. The program is manufactured by Softdesk; ph# 816-891-1040. I can't vouch for how useful this is, however.

There are lots of great gardening books with photos of popular landscape plants. A trip to your local library or bookstore is sure to land you some good ones! You may even find some particularly useful regional guides.
