The Q&A Archives: asiatic lilly

Question: a hail storm broke off all the leaves and flowers of lilly. It's nothing more than a stick. Should I cut it back or dig up and discard. This is the 1st year.

Answer: What a terrible thing to happen! I'd leave the stalk alone. It's early enough in the season that the plant might develop new leaves. If not, dig and discard. If so, it may be okay. Let's hope for the best.
