The Q&A Archives: plant recommendations

Question: I have a circular flower bed in full sun that has a clematis up the lamp post and black eyed susans all around. Want to thin it down, looks scraggly. Any suggestions for perinnials with long bloom times?

Answer: Some drought tolerant, sun loving plants to consider include Thyme, Verbascum, Verbena, cosmos, blanket flower, gazania, strawflower, rock rose, creeping zinnia, marigold, Mexican sunflower, nasturtium, salvia and zinnia.
