I don't think there's anything wrong with your palm. This palm is very slow growing when young. Once the trunk reaches it's full diameter the growth rate increases. Just continue to give it good care by watering regularly and feeding lightly in the spring and again in the summer. There are special palm food fertilizers available. Apply in amounts as recommended on the label. Enjoy your garden!
