Answer: By amending the soil you've made a nice place for your tomato plants to grow. Too bad we can't control the weather! I suspect that too much water is the reason your plants are failing to thrive. Excessive water can suffocate plant roots and it can also invite disease problems. I'd pull up the plants and wait until August, then set out new transplants. Tomatoes should grow nicely for you from August through November or December. Good luck with your garden!
