My clematis leaves are becoming dark brown (random leaves). I wonder if this is because my morning glory vine is choking it???

It is possible that the plants are overcrowded and poor air circulation can invite fungal diseases. I would prune away either the morning glory or the clematis (or both) so each plant has room to grow and air can freely circulation between them. Hope this helps.
