I have been told that this stuff is crawling ivy. I have used a killer on an area that killed everything. The nest spring i planted grass, which grew just fine, tight along with the ivy. I have used regular weed killer, but no results. Weed and feed products don't work. I am looking for a way to get rid of this stuff, any ideas |
If the plant is not responding to regular weed killers I wonder if it is creeping charlie? Creeping Charlie (Glechoma hederacea) can be a real pest. Do a websearch to compare pictures of this plant with what is growing in your yard. If it is, you can try the following: Many gardeners have had good luck eradicating the plant by mixing 10 ounces 20-Mule Team Borax in 2-1/2 gallons of water and applying the mixture to their lawn. The boron doesn't affect the grass, but overwhelms the roots of creeping Charlie. Cool weather reduces its effectiveness so apply in May when the weather starts to warm. The University of Minnesota and Iowa State University have tested this recipe and report good results. |
